im looking for a carb linkage part, and cant find one, we're working on a 1948 f-1 ford pickup, restored to stock new condition, 6 cylinder flathead engine, 1bbl ford carb, this piece connects the choke cable to the carb, one end of this little part has a place for the choke cable, the other end has a ball reciever on it like a governer or throttle linkage has, its just about a inch or so long maybe a little more do any of you have such a critter on your junk pile? if so would you sell it to get this ol pickup finished? i cant make the pic post but there is a pic of this part on the 928n forum under "another ford, f-1" appreciate your looking, eric

In 1948, IMHO, there would have been a ROD all the way from the balljoint at the carb to the choke knob in the dashboard.

If your setup has a CABLE involved, I'll bet someone has been "creative", and it's NOT OEM.

It would be NO big deal to make an adapter to connect a cable to the choke arm.

I recently did a similar project to connect a throttle cable to the carb on an SBC I installed in place of a Dorf flatty in a 1953 F6.

If you can't otherwise solve the problem, contact me, I'd enjoy whipping up an adapter for your project.

(AFTER I typed all this up, I got to thinking perhaps you simply have the wrong carb and it has a BALL on the end of the choke lever instead of a little brass "barrel" that has a hole for the choke wire. If so, I can help you out!)
