ford model820 steering box

I believe they originally used 90w oil. However, since most leak at the sector shafts, most are filled with grease now. On mine (NAA), the fill plug on top of the box was replaced years ago with a gease zerk. 'Corn head grease' is generally recommended.

Rebuilt mine last year with new seals & gaskets, filled it with 90W gear oil, and it's been bleeding out ever since. Pulled it off again about a month ago and refilled it with JD corn head grease. Took 2 tubes. It's $3/tube at the Deere dealer.
