Just a few pics from the last couple days.

Since it was too wet and muddy to do anything on thursday we broke out the fence builind machinery and built fence in the mud. What a good time that was.

This 4020 runs the bale processor everyday. As you can tell the lot is still very muddy at times but we get along.

Went up to the pasture north of town today to check on the cows. They are always curious of the 4 wheelers.

Pics of the cows over near the railroad right of way.

I was up there mowing off some weedy areas in the pasture today. Have been wanting to do this for some time but we have had to much rain.

I came upon this group of calves resting under a shade tree this afternoon. It was a steamy 92 today.

Cows enjoying the abundant grass.

There is a small pond on this pasture. I have even been told it is some pretty good fishing. Not even a ripple on the surface this afternoon.

With all the heat and moisture the corn is coming along quickly. Normally we would see a few tassels in corn fields on july 4th but not before. I planted this corn on April 15th and it looks like we have a chance for an excellent crop.

Yes, wrigley is along every step of the way. Of course right now he is enjoy some peace and quiet in the house. Perhaps he is enjoying the air conditioning as well!

Cows are the most curious creatures on the planet followed by cats and women. We tried to use the cows curiosity to control them but it does not work the same with cats. Nor with women for that matter but I think women are in between cows and cats in that regard.

My brother delivered some hydraulic cylinders to Morton and he said they were talking about 4-5 inches. Did you get that? He had some beans in the bottom that were under water for a day. Rain 2 tenths the next day, hopefully washed all the mud off.

How's the haying going? First crop up yet? Been impossible to hay here [SE MN] the last month but next week sounds sunny all week. Hope to get FIRST crop done! By the looks of the TV we are in for a nasty line of storms here in the next hour, hope we avoid the high winds and hail.

We had hoped to start mowing FIRST cutting hay today but the ground is very wet and heavy rain is predicted for tomorrow. It has been difficult for anyone to make much progress with haying. There are still beans to plant around the neighborhood. This isnt as bad as last year, just as much water but at least we are getting some heat so we may not have to pick corn in december again this year.

We are located at Farmington Il. We raise 800 acres of corn and 400 acres of soybeans. We have 75 head of cattle a couple of nice pastures and some small hay fields. Sounds like I better get going. Weather man promised no rain till noon but the thunder outside tells me different.

Us folks in southeastern Va. would like to have some rain to make mud with!! It"s been 95-100 degrees here for the last few days and only a sprinkle of rain, not even enough to settle the dust. I haven"t had to cut grass for over a week now. The farm corn is rolling up and will probably start poppin" soon!

Nice pictures, Bill> Always enjoy them. I'm not that far awqay from you (Mt Pleasant, IA) and get that way about three times a year. Nice counrty!
