Not to annoy any of your northerners....but yesterday afternoon we finished our first cutting of hay. Brought the last load of hay home just now and still need to bring back the rake, baler and tractor. Also still need to stack two loads in the hayshed....sooooo technically we're not really done yet.

Still, we just finished a week of making hay in the mid nineties and the next couple of days it's a good chance of rain, so I feel entitled to a celebration of sorts....homemade spaghetti noodles and sauce with fresh Parmesan cheese, zucchini and summer squash fried in homemade butter, and a nice salad.

Nothing quite like summer!

Christopher

PS- I noticed that the hayshed is only halfway full, so I guess this is just a pause in haymaking for this year.....

Good for you. I have not cut any hay at all yet as we have not had more than two consecutive days with no rain all month. Happy resting.

you better not rest yet! Better get that fertilizer on before the rain if you plan on filling the shed.

great, glad someone can bale hay, memorial weekend baled 100 square bales been raining almost every day since cut hay 9 day's ago raked it 3 times still on the ground ,35 acres to go and it's about 4 feet tall, more rain coming tonight,NW Wisconsin,oh ya forgot to add we have been in a drought for about 5 years got almost 10 inches in june.

Glad to hear. If the weather holds, I'll be getting started next week. Hay crop is looking good here in MN, but it needs to be dry to bale it!

Good job.

I made 10 too wet round bales a week ago.

The rest of my hay is now way over ripe & under water.

So then you going to slide over this way and help me get mine done?????? I tried to do some today just to have the main drive belt on one of the NH850s brake so I had to go to the back up 850 and bale hay. Did a whooping bit 8 bales today and I am beat Ya I know 8 bales well any more that is pushing things past what I should do and yep I feel it big time. Probably still have one or 2 to do tomorrow then need to cut more to finish up. Sucks to be getting old and being disabled too

Not even close to be being a third done, real wet up here in Michigan. Good for you, you have cause for celebration.

Southwest Pa here. Five fields done, 43 to go! We've been getting about one hay day a week. It takes two minimum.
