Pa cleaned out the tool box today and found alot of old wrenches, A few fords, a fergusen, and also one that says Indiana Silo Co. I googled it but found very little, can anyone tell me about it, thanks for any reply, Toby.

not real sure of name localy, however there was an old silo (concret stave) company in bloomfield Ind. The wrench was likely to tighten the bands around the silo. This was a job done each year before filling, or at least to check all bands as if bands were broken (rusted) or too loose the staves would spread and could cause failure.

that would indiana silo and tractor co. of anderson indiana they made a tractor about 1920 nebraska tractor test # 62

You have it right Wilson, Dad used to hire any loud mouth braggert he could find every late summer to climb the silos with a socket wrench and give the bands a tightening.Seems the loud mouths were the only ones with enough courage to do this job. I wasn't a loud mouth. Usually the bands never required any tightening from about 20 ft.up to the top but the bottom bands some times either loosened up or streched so a couple twists of the nut was given.I remember them putting another bunch of bands on the bottom 20 ft. or so of all the silos [3] later on.After 3-4 years of this in a row he seemed to forget about tightening the bands any more.Never had any problems I could see after this .
