5.5 Earthquake in Canada/Michigan yeserday.

There was a 5.5 quake in canada way northeast of detroit area. could be felt in traverse city and Soo michigan. Is there a fault line in canada? Or could it have been something else, like you see on tv, some test that they cover it up with a earthquake cover story?? Better check were the fault lines are at.

No, it was not some kind of test. It was a real tremor felt across most of Ontario and Northeastern USA. Although quakes are very rare in this part of the world, they do happen. There are fault lines running through the Great Lakes area between Canada and USA.

Look up the New Madrid fault line and see what lies ahead (hopefully it will never happen)
The Canada quake may be a fluke, I dont know if one has ever been there B4.

I live in Northern New York (35 miles from the St. Lawrence River), we have had several quakes since I moved here in 1977. They are tiny and few compared to the hot zones out west. I was sitting in my house when it happened, did not feel it, although a lot of other people did in this area.
About ten years ago, one hit the Eastern Adirondack region and shifted a road out of position.

I had a geology textbook in college that predicted that in 15 million years Los Angeles will be on the south edge of San Francisco, based on the way things are moving up the San Andreas Fault.

Oops, just remembered. external_link renamed it Bush's Fault.

We felt it here in Maine.Dang near knocked my beer over sitting o shop bench.Had one here a few years ago knocked a boltwood pile over. Hoss

You haven't seen anything yet. Wait till the owner of this universe sends a quake that will be felt around the entire of this world. See if you can find out where it tells when that will happen one day.

go out and look at the USGS site for earthquakes,
shows that one to be a 5.0 on the boarder between Ont and Que, pretty interesting, there was a large one that registered 6.1 back in 1935 that did a lot of damage. I just typed earthquake in my browser and then clicked on the usgs site.

The St Lawrence River through Ontario and Quebec is riddled with old Appalachian fault lines. Lake Ontario and Erie as well.
There is another fault line through Niagara Falls/Hamilton/Ancaster etc part way up the Bruce Peninsula.
That one rumbled a bit in the late 90's and shook Toronto.I thought it was a heavy truck outside pounding over some potholes.
