Tryin' On Our New Duds

I was multitaskin' today. :>)

However, some of us around here are gonna get the taste of a bit in our mouth tomorrow. :>)

We imprinted this one and it's sure paying off now.

She thinks I'm her dad; not one hint of trouble with her so far. :>)

Allan; Looks to me that you might have a problem deciding which "saddle you want to climb on, 4wheel or 4 legged animal! I like the ones with rubber sneakers myself.
 
Our baby Bay had her first taste of bit just last week. Judging from her tongue sticking out you can tell what she thinks of it.

Just take it slow. She'll tell you when she's accepted the "new duds" and is ready for the next step. When she's lickin her lips and chewing she's "digested" the lesson and ready for the next step.

Only time I've had problems is when I didn't wait on one to "digest" the lesson and tried to move to the next step before they were ready.

Imprinting is a wonderful tool and makes a huge difference in the horse. Unfortunately, the window of opportunity is very short.

Good luck with your "girls". They look like the type that want to please.

Thanks, yes she is a very pretty girl. My wife is more the horse person and she has been working with her quite a bit. She's just over 2 years old and so far seems to be agreeable to most things. Her mom is a real sweetheart. She's a bit like a curious teenager but does not like to get too far away from her buddy, a 17 year old mare who doesn't put up with any guff from the young one.
