just like last year wet humid and tomatos starting to die from bottom up. Tried to make collidal silver last night. too soon to tell if helping. What else will kill this didease???????

I went through the same thing last year. I got a fungicide at lowe's that did the trick. I can't find the bottle to give you the name of it but it's made by Ortho and the bottle says it kills 122 different funguses. Hope this helps. rw

ORTHO MAX (Garden Diease Control) Green Plastic
Bottle with Yellow Cap!! Good Stuff. Saved mine last year when everyone said all the plants bought from outside suppliers were infected. Just the way tomatos are - weak and able to die at the drop of the hat so top speak. Started my own plants this year with special staring mix and samething. Spraying as we go!!!
Good Luck

Had that problem last year and a little this year but not to bad. When I planted mine this year I put a tablespoon of Epsom salts in each hole and that seemed to help a lot. Yes can use a water mix of Epsom salts and that may help plus it is organic and that is the only way I do a garden 100% organic or nothing

This is worth a try if the disease isn't to far advanced. "Baking Soda Spray"
For anthracnose, early tomato blight, leaf blight and spots, powdery mildew, and as a general fungicide
Sodium bicarbonate commonly known as baking soda has been found to posses fungicidal properties. It is recommended for plants that already have powdery mildew to hose down all the infected leaves prior to treatment. This helps to dislodge as many of the spores as possibly to help you get better results. Use as a prevention or as treatment at first signs of any of the diseases.

To make: Mix 1 tablespoon baking soda, 2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil with one gallon of water. Shake this up very thoroughly. To this mix add 1/2 teaspoon of pure Castile soap and spray. Be sure to agitate your sprayer while you work to keep the ingredients from separating. Cover upper and lower leaf surfaces and spray some on the soil. Repeat every 5-7 days as needed." I have had limited succes with this on tomato's

Keep the lower branches trimmed up at least a foot you cont want any of the plant touching the fround. I use lots of shredded paper for mulch keeps the soil from splashing on the plant and use cages.

I had the same problem with my tomatoes. You need lime. When you till up your garden, Broadcast lime over the soil and rototill it in. I had the same problem year after year, My Dad kept telling me I needed lime. I finally listened to him, and have had zero problems with my tomatoes since.

My wife mixes crushed garlic with rain water. Let that ferment a few days and then strain with cheese cloth. Then she sprays everything with it. This gets rid of bugs too.

I have had the best luck with "liquid Copper Fungicide". It was one of the sprays recommended by the Master Gardner Course. And no, I don't look at myself as a master gardner. I stayed awake during the gardening section but the rest of the course kept putting me to sleep. LOL

You might have tomato spotted leaf wilt. It's spread by thrips and once your plants get it there is nothing you can do but pull the plant up and burn it. It also affects peppers, eggplants, and quite a few others. I have it in my garden and can no longer grow tomatoes.
