Electric fence question

I ran a electric fence around the garden other day because the deer have been shopping in it. But I must have had my head up in the clouds when I did it because I ran 2 strans, 1 at 3' off ground and 1 at 5' but it not continuos WOW! am I stupid! Is there a way I can connect these 2 together without rewiring? Thanks in advance. Mike

Just attach a wire connecting the two together.

I like to do the jumper wires at each end of the fence, and sometimes even in the middle.

Here's a little hint. Tie some strips of an old bed sheet to the top wire about every 6 feet or so. It will make the fence more visible, the deer will be curious, and will get "bit" by the fence BEFORE they just walk through it the first time. The deer need get bitten only once, and they probably will never come close to the fence again.
