Need help with belt for JD 800 Swather

I apologize in advance if I use the wrong word for things, I'm not especially savvy when it comes to tractor parts, but I will do my best to make myself understood. :)

I have a JD 800 Swather, and the belt on the left side that runs the cutter broke. We got the new belt, but we're having a difficult time figuring out just what all needs to be removed in order to put it on. We were able to get it on the 2 upper wheels, that was easy, but the lower wheel is proving difficult. It attaches to so much, that we just don't know how much to dismantle. We removed the heavy-duty metal bar across the front of it, and have been trying to detach the part that is actually attached to the blade. Ran into the need for some heavier tools, so have paused for the moment. So, anyone actually have a manual for the darn thing, or has done this before than can advise me?

Some times you have to completly remove an idler pulley, then thfead the belt around, tuck the belt into the pulley, then reinstall thepulley and belt.sometimes this trick works if the new belt is a little short to just slip on.good luck

I think you are talking about the difficulty of getting it around the wobble box pulley. I remember it as being very tight in that area. Consider removing the bolts under the wobble box that attach it to the swather. You might also have to remove the knife arm from the sickle. Hard to picture- sold mine two years ago. Reattach the box bolts with Lock-Tite.
