Tractors Harvesting in Vietnam

Hi everyone! I just returned from a trip to Vietnam where I searched for tractors, found a few, but not many! I posted a summary of the experience, about 50 photos, and two videos at Tractorama.us (see link below).
I took some videos that I think are interesting: they show some of the rice harvest in action in one video, and another is a video of a young man explaining the corn planting and harvesting process. I"m no expert videographer, but you might like them!

why go there except to drop another bomb , I wouldn't spend money over there to enhance their economy . I HAVE FRIENDS THAT DIED THERE !!!!!

I agree with dblair, I was in Nam for a year. Lost too many good Americans fighting for nothing. Should have dropped a bomb on the North!

A soldier goes into the military to serve his country, and his job is to follow orders. Sometimes following orders will get a guy killed, but he did his job. He did not fail. Then the country's foreign policy changes, and the soldier is still dead.

You can't alienate the whole world....we lost soldiers to the Brits, Germans, French, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans.... as well as Native Americans

Lot of time has passed, how long do you want to hold a grudge, and does it include all the others also?????

Look at the persons' pics or not, the rest is not necessary.

I agree! The USA is run by wimps, has been since the late 60's.

You NEVER appease a dictator or commie pinkos.

The north should have let the US win the war. We would have rebuilt both north and south. and would have been gone by now. Iam sure there would have been a lot more tractors also. stan

They had lots of tractors when I was there, big ones given to them by mother USA. The only thing is, they had parashutes draped over them living under them. I guess it was more expensive than their beer can homes. Left there in 1970 & will never have any desire to go back, not even to look for tractors. Keith

I can certainly appreciate the sentiments held by those who served in Vietnam. However, it is always interesting to see farming practices in other parts of the world. I am not a veteran, but I have a sincere appreciation for all who have served our country.

I was there too, I lost friends too,-- Looking back now, and it being a political war. Kennedy declared war but Johnson changed the wording to a "POLICE ACTION" I dont blame it on the Vietnamese people, they were only fighting for what they believed in, as we did . None of us on either side wanted to die, some had no choice.
Our men we got dying now are being replaced by those Illegal Immigrants that have been given amnesty. Guess all is well on the home front.

North and south, the Vietnamese people were extraordinarily friendly toward me, and especially when they heard I was American.

Thank you all for your interest in the photos.
