I rebuilt a Super MTA but can not get the split tractor back together at the split. I have tried 20 times of moving the clutch plate and turning the PTO shaft. Can anyone please help me out in getting this back together. Thanks

Ive had good luck with taking a punch or small rod and aligning the clutch spleen as close to center as possible then as I push the two parts together i turn the engine over with the ring gear thru the starter hole and usually it will go.

I have trying to turn the engin over with the front start hand crank. I just was looking at alighment tools online.

Good grief , Pull it back apart and remove the pressure plate and place it on the floor and use your hgeel and push one release lever down at a time and lock the lever down with a 1/4 inch nut then do the next and then the next this hold the pressure plate in the release possession . Next hang the pressure plate on the PTo input shaft then hang the clutch disc in the transmission shaft and slid it together , Then remove the inspection cover off the bottom of the bell housing and work up thru the bottom and bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel . This ain't rocket science it a flippen tractor. Oh and it really helps if the bell housing is clean or you will have grease clean up to your arm pit.

We have just had the gearbox out of a volvo truck and built our own alligning tool using a piece of pipe the same size as the imput shaft with 2 bits of key steel tacked on for the spline and a uni joint cap welded on the end to fit in the spigot bearing. A bit rough but worked a treat.
