I need to wire a 6 pole switch to operate a 12 volt dc motor to but am in need of direction. anyone have a wire diaghram they could share

First is the D.C. motor you want to control/reverse a permanent magnet D.C. motor? Next by a six pole switch, do you mean a switch that has six terminals? If the switch has six terminals it should be a DPDT ( Double Pole/ Double Throw ) center OFF switch. If all of this is correct, hold the switch so you have two vertical rows of three terminals. To wire the switch, connect a red wire to one of the two center terminals. Connect a black wire to the other center terminal. These will connect to the battery. There should be a fuse or a circuit breaker in the red wire. Next connect a wire from the lower left terminal to the upper right terminal and leave what ever length on this wire to connect to one terminal of the motor. Now take another wire and connect from the lower right to the upper left terminal of the switch and again leave what ever length of wire to connect to the motor. You should have these two wires making an X on the back of the switch.
NOTE: If the motor you are trying to control is a series wound D.C. Motor THIS WILL NOT WORK. You have to do it another way. I do this with Chrysler gear reduction starter motor to make them winch motors.
If this is still CLEAR AS MUD, send me an E-mail and I will send you my Phone Number where we can talk.
