OT = Tire Size

Got a 07 GMC 2500 HD 4WD crew cab with 245/75-16 that came on it that are about shot at 40000.

If I wanted to go to a 265/75-16, is it gonna throw any of this computer managed gobble-d-gook outa whack?

Thinking about going to BFG Rugged Trail. Truck is used to pull horsey trailer and equipment trailer when hauling the N.

This truck is mostly a daily driver for the wife to get to the work 20. With Va's snowy winter last year and them slip-n-slides on there now I kinda want something with a little grip but not too much road noise.

Kinda got long but remember the ? is 265 versus the 245s that came on it.

It will affect the accuracy of your speedometer, making it read lower than what you are actually going. Don't count on a wider tire to help traction in snow. You want more weight per square inch of contact area in snow, not less.

I put 265's on 08 2500 HD, they were 10 ply and I like them better than the 245's, don't think the mileage will be over 40K, I believe the speedometer reads 2mph slow now. Don't know of any other differences. Good luck.

I think you might want to check into this. I heard something over on a truck forum that going to a size bigger voids the warrainty. I think its because somebody tried to sue a tire store claming it caused transmission damage to an Allison. Just wanted you to watch out for this.

I put 265's on my 2004 GMC 4X4 2500HD Duromax crewcab and the speedometer is off about 2 mph. I went to Michelin load range E MS tires and they ride and pull great.

Check with you local dealership, most vehicles have programming in them for varius tire sizes. you change tire size in either the antibrake module or pcm depending on the model. most of the time the only problem you will have is an incorrest speed between the two modules that will set a fault code.

For what it's worth, I have the rugged trail t/a on my dodge 2500. They have 65k on them and should make it to 70 real easy.
