Does anyone know how many 1973, 4030 gas John Deere"s were made that specific year. Really curious to know. Hope to get some feed back.

I Didnt know that JD made a gas tractor since '72.is your 4030 really a gas burner?it must be a rare one.

I don't remember the model, but they sold a gas JD with a SoundGuard cab, similar to a 4440 or something like that at the big Bridgeport sale...

I think Kinzenbaw bought it...

Very few and rare to find a 4030 or 4230 as a gasser.
We have had people here actually ask about and some Philistines have converted some of these $$$$ tractors to an ordinary diesel.

I have seen those production numbers somewhere. It seems to me that around 280 4030's had gas engines and about 170 4230's were gas. They were all 1973 models. I have a relative who owns one of each.

A farmer from my hometown bought a new 4230 gas, and if my memory serves me right it had a narrow front. The only time I saw it was when he pulled wagons to the elevator with it and it stood out because it was one of the first gen 2 Deeres in the area. At that time I didn't have any idea how rare they were. I do remember questioning why he didn't buy a diesel instead of that thirsty gasser. Jim
