O.T. Oil Spill Cleanup Solution----worth the view

Lot of simple good ideas, they just needed to do something.
The was a big spill in Saudia and they used super tankes around the clock to suck it up. Seems like to thing to do was suck it up while it was bunched up at the well.

Maybe I didn't catch it---But will that procedure work with crude oil that is much much thicker :?:

It appears to me that the problem is skimming capability. Like you say it needs to be contained far from land, but you can't just "suck" it. if intake is an inch too low all you get is water, if an inch too high it's just air. Before you can suck you have to skim, and they need probably about 100 times more skimming capacity than there is in the world right now.

Interesting idea, and I think it would work.

I can see the demand for hay going up and farmers making more money.

It's amazing that they can find the oil 1 mile below the water surface and then another 3 miles below the floor of The Gulf. Then they spring a leak and they have no idea what to do to stop it. All the focus is on getting it out and very little thought seems to have been put on stopping it from coming out. I'm no expert.
