My former place of employment has been sold and the buildings are being torn down, One of the bigger buildings will be torn down and reassebled with new skin on it for the city to use, but there are 4 small silos that are in perfect condition and have been given to someone I use to work with for his farm, but he cant find anyone to take them down locally.(all the local scrappers want them, but noone to take them down, move them, and reinstall them) Wouls anyone know anyone in the southeast that can move these? Phone numbers, etc...

you talking about a concrete stave silo or steel grain bin?? Farm week mag have adv on grain bin moving as well as successful farming. Also check farmshow mag. Farmshow possibly can tell you how to make bin mover out of old combine or school bus. Little inside joke that readers of farm show will catch.

They are steel, not as big as many around here. they are only like 25 - 30 ft tall, on steel legs. Thanks for reminding me about looking in SF. Ill do that.....

They may not be too hard to handle. Excavator with enough reach, or a crane, to lay them on the side, move with trailer. One idea used to lift- if the bottom has a large enough access door- put in a truck rim/tire, drop cable through top lid, raise the rim up to fit inside the roof. One of my feed tanks is 15-18 feet tall- tipped that up with 3020/148 loader tractor. 1600 bu wet corn tank is 29 feet tall- hauled it 60 miles on a Donahue trailer, hired a crane to tip that up.
