Your post below has brought up a question.
I wonder how many here feel their dreams haven't been met?
Life has been like imagine your shinning out on a rope -look back and see lots of rope ,- look ahead and you see it drops off but you can't tell how far exactly but you must continue.

That rope behind me was my chance never to be taken again. I've had a good life but wonder if I could have done better .

In school I wanted to be a truck driver and I did it. felt it to be an important job to society, did the job to the best of my ability. When I was your age is when I wondered if there was something better as I wished I never saw the inside of a truck.

Even got to hate it so bad it started to cause me health problems.
 
I'd say the majority of my dreams haven't even come close to being met... Could just be aiming to high but mostly it seems the "X" isn't on the target... it is on my back. On the flip side the target could be much bigger than it is.... Just have to be happy with what you accomplish and not brood over what isn't. I think their are many in this world would love to have it as "bad" as I.
 
I never had a "Goal" in my life,many "Wants" yes, and some of them came to fruitation. I wanted to farm so I did. I wanted to drive and have some trucks and so I did,I wanted to become a Carpenter and so I did. Point is goals and wants are far apart. Failure to achieve a goal is a life altering situation. Failure to achieve a want is just something that did not happen so on to something else.IMO,JH
 
I have to agree with previous posters. Never set any goals. Got what I have with work sometimes to hard work and Gods help and a few other individails. I aint got anything but its all paid for.
 
It's never a bad idea to have extra options. Limiting yourself to only one option or plan is like asking for trouble. Dave
