did you see howard dixon on tv a few years ago ? he was the nuclear weapons loading crew chief who loaded that weapon on the b47 . i would think he knew if the bomb was fully assembled .

I make it a point to never watch those programs. Usually all they are is a bunch of disinformation fed to a curious public that laps it up.

After all, barring the emergency that thankfully has never happened, why would the nuclear weapons industry have any reason to give out any straight information to the public? Any info that's given out to the citizens of the U.S. is also presumably given to our enemies.

well mr goose you apparently don't know nearly as much as you think you do . as far as the reply by mf poor no comment .

Yeah yeah yeah....The entire world is wrong and mr shiftless is always right...We've been there before with about the same results. I'm sure you're an authority on atomic weapons after watching a TV show. Goose's actual hands on experience is meaningless.

FWIW, Was in USAF from 66 thru 70 half of that time in nuclear weapons. The control in that time period was stifiling now as the B47 your mister Dixon would have to be in his late 70s or early 80s to be a crew chief because it was phased out long before I got in and it was designed to be a long range jet bomber which was very slow and under powered and also it's range was somewhere around 1500 miles before refueling with a KC97 prop job which took forever to hookup and refuel. Two big requirements for a nuclear bomber is either high altitude capable like the B52 or fast after drop to avoid the aftershock or risk being blown out of the sky. I think the B47's ceiling was FL390 which was barely out of the envelop and definitely had no getaway power like the B58 Hustler.
