Computer Advice - Tractor Related!

Laptop was running slow again so decided to run the "free" version of CC Cleaner - yep, had a bunch of temp files from looking on this site and eBay.

Anyway, under Internet Explorer: ran Temp Internet Files, History, Index.dat files and Last Download Location. Didn"t do Cookies or Recently Typed URL - Just because I didn"t want to loose my "cookies" or URL on the computer.

Under System: ran Temp Files but not Empty Recycle Bin or any others. Got rid of 624 MB.

Windows XP with AVG and Anti-Malware running along. Any suggestions for better performance? Work machine and not beauty queen - does run some alcohol related products at times.
 
I would dump avg and switch to microsoft security essentials. it runs good, is free, and has free updates. only thing is you must have a valid version of windows, which most people have so it isn't a problem. download microsoft security essentials before dumping avg. should be available at 100-downloads.com or the resource page on newbies.com

ps: I am running mse on two computers at present with no problems, avg has become a resource hog.
 

thats my thoughts too. AVG seriousely slows a computer down. microsoft security essentals is much better
