Drum mowers again... What do you folks think.

Last time folks. A decent used mower runs around 4-600 bucks. A leading brand (Deutz/Fahr) costs around 2k new.
Just found an outfit in Poland that bought the design of the older Deutz/Fahr mowers and is building them again under their name (Mowerski?) for 1100 bucks delivered. 3 year gaurantee and all parts readily available. Starting to lean toward the new one because it's stress free, just don't wanna get off the bucks.
So,
spend more money and turn the key or buy used and tinker???

Guess I'd want to look at it first.

Friend bought a Zaga disc mower, brand new and in the crate, at auction for a good price. He knows machinery, and I'm sure he put it together right, lubed it, etc. Ran it for about 5 hours, and it completly fell to pieces. A total loss. When he got to looking, steel was so soft it wouldn't hold a bearing, bearings were not lubed properly, etc., etc.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.
