IH 966 seems to have a rising oil level

Oil level in my 966 is I think , taking on Diesel fuel. Is this injector pump trouble, or some thing else? Dumped the oil today,and changed filters, then chopped haylage for 4 hours. Oil seems fine now, but the last change was just before spring work started in April, and she gained a quart and seemed a tad thin . Looking for advice from someone who has had similar experience.

Inj. pump seal, not a big deal but needs to be done before running it any more. Much easier and cheaper than spun bearings.

Does a 966 have the Ambac rotary injection pump ?
If so, the little lift pump on the rear of the injection pump has a bad shaft seal.
Not hard to change and no need to remove the injection pump. Remove the fuel hoses / pipes from the lift pump, remove the three little mounting bolts and pull it off. Have a new seal installed in the lift pump and reinstall.

Probably the lower square packing on the hydraulic head.Just changed one on a 966.
