Did you repair your 5.9 cummins front cover. Just reread the post. Helped my son repair his 97. We took three bolts out and the fan and mount came out as one unit. Watch the radiator and protect it. It is a two man operation in my opinion.

No, but thanks for the info. I told him I didn't have time to do it, have to be gone this weekend doing new porch steps for a widow lady and her daughter in Jackson and have to do some work at my mom's house after that.

Don't have the wrench for the fan either. Someone said it's a 36mm or some such? I don't have a Cummins myself and would rarely, if ever, use it again. I can't afford to buy tools that I won't be using on a regular basis.

Additionally, he probably wants me to do it for nothing. Now, sometimes I'm not opposed to that. But when I know he has the money and just doesn't want to spend it? Not so much.

He hasn't taken it to a shop yet either. I'm thinking he'll wait a while and ask again. If he agrees to at least buy the fan wrench I'll probably do it just for the experience.
