Wisconsin engine question

What is the difference in a vg4 and vp4? They seem quite close. One account was the vg was a newer improved engine. Will parts interchange?

jocco, IIRC they are very similar, the P being the older one, I'm sure different carb, and ignition system and it seems to me that the VG4 had aluminum cylinder heads wheras the VP4 had castiron cylinder heads. What are you wanting to interchange? Probably runs slower and a little lower compression ratio.
