O/T squirrel in the attic

My boss has a squirrel that has taken up residency in her attic. She has had a pest control company out several times trying to seal up the access and trap it, but so far no success.

Any suggestions?

I would tell them to check the wiring up there also just incase the bushy tailed varmint did some chewing. They are well known for starting attic fires.

The pest control people have had a trap in the attic for nearly a week. Don't know what they're using for bait, but haven't got the squirrel yet.

had one getting upon the roof and eventually into the attic. each afternoon i could hear him scampering across the roof. waiting in ambush one afternoon with a pellet rifle and dispatched him. no more squirrel. currently fighting a war with coons. with a certain amount of cockiness i am sure i will win.

Years ago I when I lived on the farm in the old Farm house. They had installed plumbing to the upstairs bathroom through the living room and boxed in the 4"drain and copper pipes. One night under my room in the floor joists I could hear this scratching and movemnet. Then the next couple of days when in the living room, you could hear this noise going up the box in the corner of the room. One night some friends were over and a couple of pints were consumed( maybe more) heard the noise and when the squirrel got to top he had a hard time getting through the hole.It was decided the 22 should be used to quiet the noise down.3-4 maybe more shoots rang through the house and all was quiet. Now what a dead animal in the floor joists DUH. A while later down he goes. Figured it might be better to find out where he got in and stop him that way. A couple years later I met the fellow that moved into the house,we talked and I found out that he had atow truck, that is the business that i am in and he bacame a customer and a friend.we talked about the farma and the buildings and the neighbours. A little while later I get a call from his wife and she asks me if there was a problem with the bathroom upstairs and if we had any leaks from there. The ceiling in the living room was dripping water. They had someone come in to repair it and they found a small mark on one of the pipes that started to leak.Anyways becarefull if you use the 22 method. Like they say call before you dig, same goes for shooting in a house, know where your pipes and wires are first just in case.

Don't know about a squirrel in the attic, but I used the Hornet on a woodchuck in the back yard. Score.... 22 Hornet 1...Woodchucks..0

I made them want to move out with mothballs. Makes them go look for a nicer neighborhood I guess.

How many times did they charge her for all those trips? Best to agree to pay for only successes.

I am confused here. We are on a tractor forum yet people feel the need to hire someone to remove a squirrel?

If within my lifetime I come to the point where I do not know how to handle such a varmint in my attic, please come and put me out of my misery with a 30/06.

Thanks.
