cub cadet issues?

Question for the mechanics, I have a cub cadet 2160 that won't start. I used it this winter for snowblowing,I'd say mid-March being the last I ran it. I filled it w/ fresh gas & put back in the garage 'til last Sunday. When I pushed it out to put the deck on it, NO start? I checked the battery, the charger said it was fine(100%)& the starter turned fine, just no firing? I went & got new plugs & fuel filter, installed, still no firing? Any Ideas? Thanks Jeff

You need to check for a hot spark to your new plugs. Which engine do you have? Pull off one of the plug wires and hold it about 1/4" away from the plug and see if there's a hot fire from the plug wire to your plug. You will need a helper. It could be a defective ignition module unless you have battery ignition with a coil. Hal

Remove one of the sparkplugs and pour about a teaspoon of fresh gas on top of the piston then reinstall the plug and see if the engine will fire when attempting a start. If it does you have a fuel problem. Could the carburetor gummed up or blockage between the tank and carburetor. Take the gas line off at the carburetor and see if there's a full stream of gas from the gas line. Catch the gas in a clean container and don't be smoking when doing this. Hal

make sure to hold the plug wire very close to the ground. if its to far away,it can burn out the modgule, if its good now. wally
