What size of battery do I need for this tractor - cold cranking amps?

For a diesel, you need more than just lots of cold cranking amps; reserve minutes are king here, in my opinion. That means weight/a heavy battery; and then lots of CCA are frosting on the cake. If an HP31E will fit, you'll get lots of CCA, and weight with the concommitant reserve minutes. Probably any supplier can get one for you. In my area, Tractor Supply Company stocks them. They may or may not cost more but if so, they WAY more than pay me back for the small difference. My 2 cents worth.
