Sump pump generator requirement???

Hey folks,
using a sump pump to transfer water between two tanks (fill a bigger one and use it to fill several smaller ones). My pump is 230 volt and 600 watts. Using a 2000 watt generator now but have to wressle it around and strap it on the tank/trailer to get it around. Can get an 800 watt generator that isn't much bigger than one of them portable water pumps.
Think it would do the trick?

robably the only way you are going to know is to try it. Problem is that motors require several times the run input to get them started.

Thanks!
Got another idea that'll work and get rid of some clutter too (use my existing generator) and save some bucks

Gonna need more than 800 watts to start and run that pump. Need to find out what the starting current is. Chances of finding a small generator that puts out 220v is not likely, most only do 110v.

id you notice the country he is posting from? 220

You pump should use capacitor start design or you will have trouble. Split phase motor usually has surge like 20 or 30 amperes. But that is on 120 volt. No idea what 220 volt would do. Why not gas engine pump? If you go generator, try before you buy. Dave
