White 2-135 Tachometer Question

I have a 1976 White 2-135 and the tach has quit. The speedometer still works, and when you turn the knob to the tach, it tries to work, but then goes to zero right away. Is there a sensor on the front of the engine that runs the tach, and if so, is it difficult to change it? Also, is there a website like Case and JD that would have a parts breakout? Thanks - Bob

White is part of AGCO. You can register at any AGCO dealer for a password, then access the parts site. I think it is Jeff Z. on the AC board that occasionally posts a direct link- look back a couple weeks for it.

There is the sensor up front near the crank pulley that does engine rpm. Also there is one by the three speed I think that does ground speed can"t remember. There is no password Use internet explore and go to this website and click quest. The sensor is easy to change. Remove the right side shield and you should see it.

The sensor is the same from some models of White planters other than the plug end..I installed one on a White 2-180 and worked fine.

Front of engine at under side of plate in front of crank pulley.

Thanks for the help fellows. I will take the panel off and see if I can get it changed. Thanks again - Bob
