...if my first wife hadn't passed away in 1992 at age 36. I try not to think about it, since I've been married to my second wife for 15-1/2 years, but now and then it just comes back. Seems like it was a lifetime ago. First wife now has two grandchildren who'll never know her, and I'm sure she'd have spoiled them rotten.

sorry for your loss.i lost my mother when i was 9 years old i am now 53 sometimes i think about what it would be like today if she was still here she has 7 grandkids who never new her.but like your wife i am sure she would have them spoiled.

I know how you feel. My first wife died in 93 34yrs old. I still think of her often.

My mother passed away in 1971 at 46. Somewhere around 25 years after that my dad told me he lives with it all the time, even though he's happily re-married. My mother is the person he created and raised a family with and the bond is never lost. They were married on Feb. 15,1948 and he's still kind of quiet on that day.

He re-married in Jan of 73 and I was married in Aug of 73 so to lighten thigs up a bit I remind him that he's been married only seven months longer than me.

My wife passed away in 2004 at 50 years old. We were married for 32 years. My girl friend tells me it is good that I still think of my wife. That she will never try to replace her. Sometimes I tell her about my wife and we have a good laugh about some of the things she did.
Like driving all over town to get things on sale. How much gas she used did not matter. She got the items on sale.
