A Roller Coaster of Emotions; Kinda Long

As I'm reading some of the nice reponses regarding my well being fiixed, feeling good about having water again, yadyada, I hear a loud THUD and see a motorcycle going topsy turvy along side the road. He hit an oak tree. I'm on dial up and it seemed like forever for the phone to disconnect from the internet. By the time I called 911, some folks had stopped and were trying to comfort thr rider who was face down and unconscious. His breathing was labored and I stayed on the phone til the paramedics arrived....he never regained consciousness and when help got here he had stopped breathing. They intubated him and started CPR. By now I was on traffic control, (I live between two 30 mph curves) and they decided to move him by ambulance instead of airlift. The sirens wern't going when they left.

All I know was his name was Greg.

Chuck (CA),

Sad to hear and it dosen't sound good. I had a guy to get killed next to my house once ( practically in front of it ) . Drinking and driving and hit a tree . He was just a few years younger than me .

P.S. Congratulations on getting your well fixed. We used to have well water , but now on city water. Either which way , I know how not having water feels.

Had the same thing happen to me except it was a person that was drunk and high that hit me and my family head on. Driver thrown and his passenger partially ejected. My family was all buckled up and were not hurt too seriously, I ran 1/4 mile to a house to call for help, (longest run in my life). In the mean time my wife and children stayed at the scene and all got a good first hand look at the aftermath. They had a very hard time dealing with it. Guess what I am getting at is it is okay feel the way you do and it is okay to talk to someone to help you deal with things. Best of luck.

Those are feelings I try hard to avoid. But yesterday I was almost in the midst of them. A young guy on a Jap motorcycle came up fast from behind in the lane of traffic next to me. Without pausing he shot through the gap between my front bumper and the rear bumper of the vehicle in that lane. There was barely enough room for him. If either of us drivers had done something unexpected, like putting on the brakes, it would have been ugly.

I do understand how you feel. It really is a tragedy.

You Did All You can ,, Last week 1st wifes brother lost his life in a bad fall 25 ft up , hit his head on some open ends of pipes in the worst way .. poor guys that worked with him took it hard , THEY DID ALL THEY COULD , HE WAS A GREAT GUY , ,,. month ago , on way to appointment, came upon accident, lotsa folks running to and fro, at least 10 vehiles stopped ,, looked like plenty of help.???,,BUT , authorities were not there yet,, i avoided the event by turning off right before and took a 6 minute detour that leads out 1/4 mile above the accident... damcelphone would not give me service OR CONNECT ,after serveral attempts I gave up because of the dangerous bypassroad i was on ,and besides I FELT CERTAIN IT HAD BEEN CALLED IN BY NOW .. when got back to main road , STILL No EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM THERE !!??? ... Just 5 miles from a major city!! .. Met them on way to town .. appaantly NO ONE COULD GETa phone call out down there,, 5 CARS INVOLVED MOTORCYCLE RIDER KILLED

I deal with this crap more than I care to also. You must remember you were not the cause. Also ou can feel bad if you could have done something, but did not do so. Otherwise it is part of life.

We call in debrifing teams from time to time to help some of the crew. Ihave never gone to one in the thirty years. However some folks do think they are great, and very helpful.

If you feel a need just give the EMS a call, they will point you in the right direction at no cost.

Chuck (CA) I posted a similar event on here in November after a double fatality on a headon collision right at the end of our housing addition. I think I posted it because I wanted someone to tell me what I did wrong but after two vehicles collide headon at a closing speed of 130mph there isn't much you can do except comfort the dying and cover up the dead. Like you I'll never forget that day. God Bless CT
