Unknown tractor

I have been asked by a friend to find out the year and model (I think is a B or BN) of a tractor. I have some pictures of the tractor but do not know who to send information in order to get some answers. Plese let me know where and to whom I may contact to get help with these questions. I am still looking for the serial #. The only number I have found is 6744-B.

guess it would help to know what color it is. From there somebody could point you to where the SN should be. From there the year can be figured out.

If it's a Farmall B, the serial number plate should be below the seat on the inside of the seat bracket.

If the plate is there, you can go to the left side of this page, to Research & Info, and find the year under Serial Numbers.

Does the tractor have a narrow front with the seat offset to the right along with the steering wheel?

here it is from the gallery

Definitely a Farmall B. If the picture were from a different angle could tell if BN, but I don't think so. I didn't have great pics to show a comparison, but here are a couple of my tractors. A in the from, B in the back. Notice the much wider axle on B. Even on side with seat, B is 4" wider than the A. Your seat (just like the A in my picture) is not original, so your ID plate is probably missing. You can see the original seat on the B in the back.

Sorry I got my pics ahead of yours there Albert. You can go to tractor photos on the left side of this page and search for B Farmall. Plenty O pics there!

Looks like a BN neighbor had one when I was a young pup never got to drive it but always wanted to. The N is for narrow front wheels.

The N does not mesn single front wheel and the same front wheel can be on the B. The BN is 8in narrower than a B.

Ok, I knew something was narrow Not like a wide front end one. There was a post on here a couple years ago when someone rolled one down a hill. I don't think that was a single front wheel. I'll have to look closer.

There were four different types of front wheels available fixed, adrustable and two sizes of the front. Even dual wheels for the rear in two sizes.

It is a Farmall B, The space between the seat support and the right-hand fender gives it away, the gap is about 4 inches. The Farmall BN has no gap as the axle housings are the same length as on the Farmall A and the seat support is hard up against the fender.

Thanks John for the information about the Farmall B. My friend is widowed and would like to sell the tractor as is. Could you give me a ballpark figure for selling.
