keeping birds out

We have always had sparrows in the tool shed. The door is open all day and the feed grinder sits in there. Seems like they are really taking over and crapping everywhere. Does anybody know of something that really works to keep them away besides sitting there all day with a firearm. Thanks for reading.

We hung pie tins about 4-5 feet down from inside of roof in my hay barn. Has worked for the last 20 years. Heard people use old CDs also.

what about closing the door? If that isn't possible, hang something from the doorway like rope, that will prevent the birds from going in, but can be easily pushed aside for authorized visitors (like you).

Do they roost in the tool shed for night? How about running an exhaust hose from your car in there after dark with the door closed?

Some people that I do custom hay for have been fighting birds since they built their arena/stable 12 years ago. Every year there is a new audible-visual-electronic-inflatable-hanging-rotating- flopping, clicking gadget that is supposed to keep the birds out. Last summer they had a guy come in and frame up screen panels that were attached to the underside of all of the frame members, effectively making a wire ceiling. birds seem to still come in but can't perch high so they fly back out.

I had several birds making a nest in my shed last year. I only go to the farm on the weekends, so when I left I left the radio on and the next weekend they were gone.

buy a plastic owl and hang it from the rafters. I did this in my shed, birds won't comein, they'll roost on the outside of the shed

Start up the 4020 and run it for a few min. The diesel smoke fills the peak and the birds leave.
Helps if you can close a door.
