kitchen appliance repair folks????

Hey folks,
Trying to get a part for a whirlpool exhaust fan. The light stopped working and when I went to check the switch, it's a circuit board type that controls the light and the fan. Wires are soldered to the board and the harness disappears into the motor area. Hoping I can get the switch assembly based on some numbers from the stickers but don't know where to start.

Any help to get me started would be appreciated.

Just my guess but it is most likely in the circuit board it self. That will most likely cost you more than a new hood. I would suggest to just bypass the board. and wire it through a standard push button ot toggle switch, directly from 120 VAC source the stove. If you have room put a fuze in the line. Or try an appliance repair co. that carries your brand and see if they have a used board. With all that said, it is probably quicker to just replace the hood.

Discontinued........ Just happened so haven't had a lot of time to search. Only hope is to find one used on ebay (or one that the guts match). Kitchen was ordered with this hood assembly and because of such a small room, I ordered/installed cabinets that leave no room to fudge. If I can figure out the wires, I'll just use a switch like you said.

Thanks, Dave

Dave. Contact Whirpool Corp 229 factory Street, La Porte, Ind. Bet they have parts still in stock. Will tell ya where to go to a dealer if they don't sell retail. I was Parts Mgr at Sears years ago and whirlpool was the ,main supplier for most of sears merchandise.Might be still a part being used today. LOU

Thanks folks. The website didn't show the part. I sent an email though. Maybe something will turn up.

Dave. Son has another suggestion. Just change motor with the switch from another unit .You didn't say whether it was ducted or non=ducted. Difference is motor drag from duct less. Just using a switch to use motor does away with different speed for exhausting odors. High speed usage is very annoying when on High.Hate the sound. Would rather have palm leaves (with pretty girls swishing em back & forth rather then listening to screaming motor. lol .LOU

I canfind some hooters clothes and come fan ya for awhile

switch/motor is fine, just the light doesn't work. Light and fan switch is on the same circuit board. Maybe the problem is on the light end. Got it on the rountuit list.
