hi,
last summer my dad bought a boomer 8n and i love this tractor. he bought it because he has a 1951 8n and my grandpa's 48. i love this TRACTOR!!!

what do u think of them?

Not a ford man at all when it comes to tractors, but there was one on dislay this winter at the dealer's open house...

Really neat looking.

yeah they are really nice it drives like a dream. and i was born and raised a ford guy. i love tractors annd trucks. i have a 1990 ford f-250 that i'm putting work into but i'm only 16 and cant even drive it yet.

I do hope that the engine is not the same
as the one that is in the other ford compacts,
every one of te I have seen has the balancer
destroyed . The cost of parts is about $5,000
plus a lot of labor , last one I saw parts
were 5200 , dealer wanted $10,000 to do the
complete job. Tractor is not worth that much.

Actually its just another compact tractor, and at least in the beginning, you were paying a lot extra for the nostalgia. Did the price come down more in line with others of its size class?

I would have been more impressed if they had made the lines more like the 8N, and not just a curvy "Toons" caricature of it.

I think the price differential had more to do with the CVT transmission that they fitted to the 'Boomer' 8N than it did with the styling factor. Sure... the nostalgia thing did play into it but part of the idea was to make a big deal of introducing the new CVT to compact tractors...

I thought the pictures looked nice. Then I seen one at the dealer. It all looks out of proportion. Seems to sit very high for how narrow it is too. I like my 30hp boomer for a lawn mower, auger tractor, box scraper, garden worker but don't care for that one.

Local dealer got two of them in when they were introduced. They are still parked in front of the dealership deteriorating in the weather.

Probably a nice tractor if you're 4'-2". Not so much if you're 6'-5". Then again, that's pretty much the story of just about all compact tractors.

Most over priced compact on the market. No way anyone could buy one if they shoped the market unless they just want to say I have one.. Lots of people out there and that is what New Holland (Fiat) is betting on,, so far it has not worked.
Sales have been very disapointing..Whosale (i.e.) shipments to dealers were around what NH was expecting but reported retail sales are les than half what they had programed..

Maybe we could just share in his joy and congratulate him.......

Might be overpriced and underdesigned but gee lets make him feel bad about liking it.....
