allan, you got the craziest weather out there!!!! thought nebraska was supposed to be the midwest!! we have our corn and beans in already, and corn is just sprouting up.

Allen, I grew up on a farm in York County Nebraska but farm in South Carolina now. I never wanted to milk cows by hand in a three sided cattle shed in winter, nor scoop snow to get to the outhouse. I don't make much money like you big farmers, and August here is worse than there, but it's sure nice not to have to worry about snow on my beans and hay!
Go Huskers!

Out here,

Ya fer sure gotta get those crops in the ground early ifn' ya wanna replant 2 or 3 times. :>)

You're entirely welcome to head east to Kentucky and join us in the midst of an all day (so far) thunderstorm, w/high winds, pouring rain, and tornado warnings. At least you can shovel that snow outta the way.

It took that long? I woke up to snow just outside of Grayling Saturday morning, but it was gone by 10am or so. 20 degrees up there Sunday morning, but it was dry.

I spent a lot of time up at Camp Grayling. It was either hot or cold, always one extreme it seemed. I saw frost up there once in August! A really beautiful place, you just have to be prepared for changing temps. I still have my "Spike's Keg O' Nails" hat from the good ol' days when we could go off post.

Where is the picture ? Dont have to be of the tractor or the snow it could be a shot of that tree you got . We will look at anything , miss all your pictures !

glennster,
You got all your beans in?
Ran down to Lincoln, IL. Sunday for Mom's day and a lot of corn is up (some looked a little yeller - with the cold temps) Some beans in but looked like they're waiting for a break in the weather.

How's "rock chucken" going?

Jim
