Yesterday, all us Adirondack rednecks got together to celebrate a birthday, spring, and anything else we can think of. This tradition started in 1992. The camp is 2.5 miles off a dirt town road. The road in from there is not suited to less than SUVs & PU trucks. Few round heads and deep mud holes in the road way. Those who couldn't drive the last leg were shuttled in on the Kubota shuttle bus. Most arived on wheelers. Everyone brings food to be shared. Lots of good eats, (venison chilly, fish chowder, bever meat, leek soup, home made pickles, dips, salads, deserts. Had a very popular band for entertainment. (notice the soup can beverage holders on mike stands and proper footware.)The weather was tipical with sun mixed with wind, thunder storms with hale, rain and snow, 2"on the ground this morning there.A good time was had by all!!!

Down here in Hillbilly Redneck country we call Leek's "Ramps" . Looks like good Old Boys get-together for some suds, food & song.

Looks like a great time!

After I got loose from my exwife and started running around with some of my old college buddys again every time we would get together some one would say "remember when we had that all weekend long party at that barn, or some one"s house while their folks were gone? We need to do that again some time." But we never did, so I set aside one weekend to have a party at my house, start a fire about 3 on Friday afternoon and not let the grill cool down till day light on Sunday. My nick name in college was Cooter so one called it Cooterfest. Turned into an annual get together one weekend every summer we turn my yard into what a barn party looked like in college. Always a four wheeler going some where and every person who shows up brings a cooler or a jug and some kinda critter to toss on the fire.

If it were not such a drive I would try to come to Leekfest 11, looks like my kinda crowd!!
