Allis C hydraulic pump

working on my Allis C & the hydrulic pump lifts up with not much weight on it. Put weight on the hydraulic cylinder & it won't pick it up. Any thoughts as to what needs to be done to fix this problem? Thanks in advance -

That Pump only puts out 1100 pounds of pressure and if you are trying to lift much more than the original plows that came with the C it isnt going to happen with those 7/8 inch rams. There are a couple of check balls and springs one on each piston that keep the oil from bleeding back to the pistons, the springs can break and the balls can get rusty from disuse You can get to them just by pulling a plug on the pump. if you need springs they are easy to find at a hardware store and the balls can sometimes be found there also.

The Allis
C pump is a low GPM high pressure pump at around 3000psi. You need to check your pumps pressure and also check to make sure your cylinder is not by passing fluid

If that was an Farmall C that would be true but the
Allis C pump puts out around 3000PSI and all the early Allis tractors used a high pressure low GPM pump
