Where in Michigan? It almost looks homemade. Did you see a name on it any where? There"s quite a few things that don"t look right on it, but either wat it"s still pretty cool.

I know little about Steam Traction Engines, but it seams that the piston diamiter and stroke seem quite small compared to others that I have seen. The chain drive train and small flywheel seam that way also, BUT IT COULD BE ONE OF A KIND. and could be "PRICLESS"Reallllly interesting peice of equipment. Sure ther will be lots of comments on this one. Thanks for posting. Acg.

I looked at this engine at the auction where this dealer ended up buying it last year in Swartz Creek, MI. It is home made and well built- to a point. The boiler will need major re-engineering to bring it up to something approaching code and getting that marginally designed boiler tested and certified would be a nightmare!
At best it is an expensive piece of yard art to mow around and hang lights on and at worse it is a gaping money-hole to dump your kids inheritance into- just like a "real" engine!
