Steering problem

Our Ford 4400 Industrial with loader turns easy to the right but you now have to fight it to turn to the left. Has fluid in it. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

By chance does this steering system have a short cylinder inside the cast lower nose of the tractor, under the radiator ?? There you will find a turnbuckle that adjusts the steering centering of the steering spool valve..Try adjusting the turnbuckle to see if it will help with your problem..The linkages in there get loose and won"t work properly..

Am not famiular with a 4400 Industrial but is it made simular to a 4000 in the 3 cylinder version with a steering cylinder on the left side with the control valve built in the back of the cylinder, if so then the control valve needs rebuilt. We bought a used 4000 off a Ford dealer and it would not steer corectly, wanted to wip the wheel to the side. We took the cylinder back to dealer several times and everytime came back same way. Dad finally got mad enough he got the owner of the bussiness to come out and look at it. When that cylinder about took the owners arm off that cylinder came off right away, the owner took it off, and when it came back it worked as should for the next 20 years. Some of the older JD combines used that same type of setup and that control valve settup would act just as you describe.
