last week my shepard lost her appitite. took her to the vet.they said she is very healthy.gave me some dewormer. now she isnt any better.staggers around.I try to bottle feed her water.she don't seam to hurt anywhere.what else can I do?

Any neighbors dislike your dog? I have heard of a case like this, they thought antifreeze was the issue? I fired a nail gunand startled the dog, that is when he acted like he was shot in the head. Later a neighbor told someone else he had done the antifreez and a few slices of bread.

There could be a hundred different things causing this, I would think a vet would be able to dig deeper.

Get a 2nd opinion if it was my dog. 1st vet should have run tests to check for poisoning or health issues that could be happening. Old or young dog??/

Had one that did the same thing, took her to vet,got about the same crap, said she was just old, took her back again after about two weeks told the vet if she couldn't find out what was wrong with her I would I would find someone who could. Took her about 30 minutes to find out she was diabetic and was going into kidney failure, she lived 3 days.

We had an older mut do the same thing this past summer. She had had a history of cancer, already having several mass cell tumors removed, and the best we could figure out was she had developed cancer in her digestive tract somewhere. She was too old to do surgery, so we nursed her along until she began to show she was in discomfort. I hope you can find something that is treatable. You didn't say how old she is, but if she's getting old, I would use surgery as a last resort only.

I should probably say that my recommendation comes not because I would be worried about spending the money on them just for another year or two, because I would have gladly spent the money for surgery if it would have healed her, but I also had another dog when I was younger who we took in for surgery to get a tumor removed, and he ended up not recovering afterwards because of weak kidneys.

I would find another vet. Any animal that is doing what your dog is doing. Is not healthy. I would have it checked for poison also for parvo.

When my dog was about 12 years old, I came home and he was walking slightly side ways, with his head twisted, to one side, I thought he had, had a brain seizer.
I called the Vet told her I thought he would have to be put down. When she checked him and did some tests she said it was his thyroid so he's been on thyroid pills for the last 5 years, not much time left for this poor old soul.

I lost my dog to Decon. There is a antidote, but I found out too late. Was there green poop on the lawn? Decon is green. There's a vitimin antidote, I just don't remember which one. Good luck. bjr

It has been several years ago, but we had a dog that we thought had eaten some rat poison. I believe the vet gave him a shot of vitamin K. He also inspected the dog's gum line closely (I believe looking for signs of hemorrhaging).

I had to put my dog of 12 years down last fall. I don't wish that on anyone. I know she was just a dog (as my Dad would say), but I sure was attached. I wish you the best.

might be stomach worms which regular dewormer will not take care of give her a raw egg if she will eat it that will take care of any worms in there

farmal, here is what my Dog gets he's 17 years old and about 80 lbs. He looks Part Lab Part Black Shepard with Longish hair.
I really don't know what he is, but he's been an excellent tempered dog.
