Does anyone have a service or owners manual for a Jaeger model 185 air compressor? I purchased one that has stood for years. THE 6 CYL. MOTOR TURNS over but I haven't started it yet I put some diesel fuel in the plug holes. Should I somehow do the same with the compessor pistons too? What oil does the compressor take? I despirately need some answers. Thanks Ron

An earlier post here (2004) said Jaeger was purchased by a compressor parts co, which is now apparently compartsphx.com...their home page lists Jaegar among others, if you haven't already tried them.
I don't have much on compressors; one catalog that lists the 185 says it came with a Cont M330, a 6cyl 4x43/8, but the original purchaser may have requested another engine. Good lucke.

We had a small fleet of them in the '70's , and we used plain hydraulic oil in the air end. There is a part called the Separator , that separates the oil from the air , check that for restriction , damage etc. Its in the hyd tank or an aux tank inline with the air outlet.
