Temp Guage Spiral wire

does Anyone KNOW ? ., What Role the spiral wire plays on the temp Quage sending Unit cable? this is not a electric type ,,, Got a Broken Spiral, And Now ,a non Working guage , Which gave up before its time ,,, are These repairable ??..doubtful ,, but ya never know if ya don't ask ...

Spiral wire just protects the capillary tube that is in the center. I doubt that broken spiral wire is your problem, sounds like tubing in the center is broken or kinked.

Those gauges use ether as a working fluid. Center tube is most likely broken.

t is just a very small metal tube/pipe...bend it too much or kink it too sharply & it cracks & out goes the tiny ether charge. They are not really that fragile.
