John Deere Roosa Master Fuel Pump return valve

I have a John Deere Compressor with as Roosa Master Fuel Pump model AR 51747. The number on the pump is JDB435ND2802 with a 5991669. The engine suffocates. when I open the bleeder valve on the side of the fuel pump it runs fine. It seems the return line to the fiuel tank appears to get clogged or the fitting has a valve that is faulty. Any idea on where I can get as new fitting?

That is the housing-pressure-regulator-valve. Part # 15830.

I just bought a bunch from U.S. Diesel in Fort Worth, Texas. They sell and ship to anyone. Valves are about $5 each.

Keep in mind that if your valve is plugged, it's probably becase the plastic governor-cage dampener fell apart inside the pump.

US Diesel in Fort Worth Texas is a dealer and will ship. 800-328-0037.

Thanks for the reply. The piece I think I'm talking about is a threaded fitting on the top of the pump that goes to the return line to the fuel tank. It appears to have a small glass bead in it. When I take that fitting out and connect the pump directly to the line to the tank it seems to run fine. Is that the fitting you are talking asbout?

Yes, that it there for two reasons. One is to maintain a 4-6 PSI housing pressure inside the injection pump, and two is to prevent fuel drain-back. The fitting (with glass ball) screws directly into the pump cover, and then a JIC fitting screws into that - and on to the return fuel line.

Had the same thing happen on my 4020. And I have heard others on here describe the same thing. The governor damper is falling apart and plugging up the return line/elbow. You can blow it out or clean it up but a pump rebuild is in the near future for it.
