Questions and problems on ebay

I am looking at items on evil bay. The auction runs say 4 of the 7 days and kaputt they are canceled gone delisted!!! No this is not buy it now. NEXT you look at something, shipping is say $20 which is ok, look at it tommorow and shipping jumps to say $50. What the heck is going on?? Seems to be quite frequent.

I quit using ebay when they made it pal-pal only payments. Its not like it was 5 years ago. To many buy it now and the same items over and over and over and over.

I have ended sales early that had no bids. I figured no one was interested. If you want to own bid early. Once an item has bids there are parts that can not be edited without cancelling the bids. I don't know about the shipping priced unless you may be signed in from a different zip code or not signed in at all. That would make a difference. And I suppose the seller could change the shipping if he had entered it wrong but I would not expect that to happen often.

I still take checks and money orders. I'm just no allowed to say so on ebay. What you do on check-out is click on the "pay cash on pickup" button. Then it will show you my address where to send the money. (I think that's how it works anyway, I've never bought anything from myself)

Auctions end early because people are tired of waiting around and watching stuff sell for peanuts. If you want something you need to be aggressive and contact the seller - ask them f its for sale locally...and make a deal. Just like my front lawn..Money talks and everything else is just BS.

Some listings state the item(s) may be for sale locally, and when sold, EBAY listing may end. Others, as stated, pull listings when items don't draw a worthy offer (by sellers definition of worthy)

If you contact the seller in order to skirt the auction process, you are violating the auction rules and you could be blacklisted.

There are also a number of big ticket items at low prices that are actually scams that get reported to ebay and delisted. I reported some in the past. Particularly where they take a picture from someone else of a tractor or boat, put a cheap price on it, and then say it is located somewhere in the US for shipping but they happen to be traveling in Russia or Nigeria and need the money sent there or they are selling it for an american friend or their job took them overseas and they left it stored at a warehouse. All kinds of scams and dummies bid on that stuff.

Jocco, what kind of items are you looking at that are being delisted?

I've taken chances with power sellers from China and have received my goods. Just bought a webcam from China and they even have an english speaking tech person who emailed me daily for a week while we were trying to get my camera and router configured.

Just bought 2 new modem/routers for AT&T from guys in the US. Dumb me misread the model number and bought one of them that won't work. Guess I'll relist it.

If shipping seems unreasonable, I always contact
the seller. Ask them if they could send it
cheapest way even if it is 5 to 7 days. Most
sellers will work with you.

I think a lot of people just use Ebay for advertising on high dollar items. Through a truck or skidsteer on there to generate interest then try to work a private deal with someone. I have bid on a lot of skidsteers on ebay only to have the listing cancelled.

Ya keep me guessin' w/the screennames!

Yeah, either gold 'er else platinum. I usta by and sell quite a bit on Fleabay, but never was a "pal" of Paypal. I gave it up like a bad habit when PP and Ebay became one in the same.

I have sold over 370 items on ebay in the past 2 years. I know there will be fees and that doesn't bother me. I sold the stuff and that is all that counts. There is nothing wrong with ebay. All the problems are the buyers and sellers. Also, it is NOT paypal only to pay. I get requests for money orders and I always say OK.
