From a relative. 7000 hours, engine awesome, sheetmetal great, t/a needs attention. $4000, have allways wanted one. Needs a new seat and gonna take that darn cab off and put the flat top fenders on. She is gonna earn her keep this spring, then get a slow resto!

Been there and done that.....

Dave, think this over. You really don't wanna take that cab off, do ya?

Those old binders are just plain LOUD by default. Buy a pair of ear protectors and keep the cold weather protection.

Believe me, you'll cuss yerself later if ya go ahead and yank it.

Bought a 1206 new in 67. Did heavy plowing in spring, cultivated sugar beets all summer, pulled six row beet digger in fall. All around versatile
tractor. I wish i had one again. Good luck.

I'm a little jealous... I've always liked the bigger 06's too, just haven't gotten one yet. Looked at a really nice one this spring, but the price was really "nice" at $12,500. Too much for my checkbook. Look forward to seeing it sometime!

Wondered about the LOUD part. I had a 674 that was noteworthy primarily for its decibel level. Didn't seem to be exhaust noise so much as just "machinery" noise. Don't think a tractor that big should be a 4 cylinder. Sure made me wish for the Oliver 1550 again. . .

I know I will catch a lot of grief for this but I personally would hold out for the 1256. Here is why, that 361ci was reaching its top end from the gitgo and with the fuel pump being eay to turn up on it most of those 1206s were cranking much more than thier 112hp at pto.Number two issue is the TA will incure some heavy costs to fix. I"ve spent more time on those series tractors than any other and certainly have to admit it was impressive compared to any tractor built from 1965 thru 1967 compared to the likes of the ACD-21 and XT190 and the JD 4020 all rated at lesser hp during that time period. If you want one no matter what, have fun! The 1206 was certainly no doubt a powerhouse in its day and I just liked its looks. My two cents.

if I knew the history of one like you do yours... I would pay 4000 IN A HEARTBEAT.

What others have said below, take FWIW. any 06 kicks a33!

i Have a 1256,it has a lot of 'heart'.But I like the looks of the 1206 better.'56s shift lots better
