how do I trace a tractor

Pretty much impossible, because tractors are not "titled", so sales are not reported to any agency and there is no record of transactions. Guys come on here all the time, wanting to find Grandpa's old Prairie Dominator 2000, that sold at auction after he died in 1972, in Bug Tussle, Oklahoma. Seldom seem to hear of anybody actually finding them, unless it stayed in the neighborhood.

If you look closely at the site, for your 35 small you get information on how the tractor was equipped, and sometimes where it was shipped, but nothing on where it is now. But you apparently do get a nice certificate.

Well, the way I read his post he was looking for information on the ORIGIN of the tractor, which SHOULD be covered by the Two Cylinder folks.

I didn't notice him asking about where it is NOW.

By golly, you're right. Just re-read the post.

Guess I'd be a little dissapointed in spending 35 bucks to find out the tractor was manufactured in Moline, Ill. (ya think?), has power steering (yeah, there it is), power-trol (yep, I see that, too), wide front (well, I guess its wider than those tricycle rigs).

But of course, there's that certificate, suitable for framing. . .

Yeah, but which company has survived for 160 or so years WITHOUT being taken over or disappearing?

As I said, CAPITALISM at it's best!
