ot clematis plants

I know this is ot a little but... Went out side this morning and noticed our clematis plant had disappeared right down to the ground. It's planted right next to the house. I didn't see any deer tracks but I suppose it possible. Any other ideas?

Don't give up on it too quick, Dale. We had one "disappear" a couple of years ago and I wrote it off as a loss. You ought to see it today - it's loaded with blooms. There's a good chance it will come out better than ever.

We've had that happen a bunch of times. I always figured it was rabbits, but could not prove it. Typically here in the country the deer don't come quite that close to house to munch things.
