OT- Passwords

Anybody on here use the model and serial number of their tractor for a password? I have been doing that for several years now and it makes a very secure password. Example: JD49a1234567. If you forget it you just look at the tractor data plate. DH

Yup! Sure do. I use them for everything I do online. My wife thinks Im nuts, but I keep telling her if she forgets just go look at the tractors. Only problem is I sometimes forget which one is for which account.

Not the smartest thing in the world to do, but even dumber is posting the habit on the internet........

This ain't Mayberry........Hope it works out for ya.

Which tractor did I use? Or was it the tiller or the truck vin number? And for your information I live 12 miles from Mayberry which is where Andy was born. Mount Airy , NC is his home town and Pilot Mountian is Mt Pilot. So this is Mayberry. DH

Im sure theres those that use even dumber passwords. My favorite was the guy I use to work with who used his birthday for everything. He was so sure nnone could get into his accounts, until one day I went into his email at work and showed him it could be done by the wrong person.......

Serious???????
As for the password, I don't care what you do and I wasn't meaning to call you a dummy. Just that there are folks that make it their life's goal to figure out passwords and steal identity. PW's should be at least 16 characters consisting of upper and lower case and special characters and have nothing personal in them. Not that I do that all the time, but I don't go around bragging about it. Just can't be too careful.

DH heard on the radio the other day that Mt. Airy is the most popular town in the whole USA. If I were you I'd be proud to live there. Been there many times. Love to eat at the Mayflower.

Only remember one password, keep the others in a password safe. It will generate good passwords automatically that you copy/paste so even a keystroke logger can't see them.

I make a word search like box. It has numbers, capitals and symbols. I keep it in the desk so I can remember exactly. It also has some unusual usernames as well. Here is an example, but the real one is much larger and complex. I usually remember parts of pasword just not all details.

hey Welding Man I do really like living here as everything is at a slower pace than a lot of other places. People here are frendly and will go out of their way to help someone. Where are you from? And yes the Mayflower is a good place to eat. Do you come for Mayberry Days? That has become a big thing here. Maybe I will buy your supper at Mayflower someday. DH

I live 4 miles off I77 at exit 100. Mayberry days are Sept. 23-26 2010. Go to: surryarts.org for more information. They also have a Donna Fargo thing here as she was raised here. DH

Do any of you remember Pixley? Bobbie Jo, Betty Jo, and Billie Jo? Petticoat Junction.

In 1997 while on a vacation to the California Farm Equipment Show my suitcase became full so I decided to mail some things home. I stopped off at Pixley, CA to mail them. I talked really nice to the postal clerk and they extended a courtesy to me of a letter opener and pen with the USPS logo and Pixley, CA on them. They typically give such as customer service incentives to gain mailings.
