My pa called JD for a price and they wanted like 500 dollars. Its only a 6 row planter. Worked out to be a little less than 50 dollars a foot. Went to a metal shop and they did it for 17 dollars a foot. Someone tell me we arent payin for the JD name. Sorry for the rant, im better now, Toby.

I passed up on a poly cross auger for an 8 row at a consignment sale 2 weeks ago. Brought $25.

Hes was lookin for plastic seeins how it wouldn't rust out but no luck. Have to start keepin my eyes open at sales and auctiouns. Just store em in the barn until there needed i guess.

Hydraulic marker sequence valve failed on my 1750 6 row today. Deere sells no parts for them, only new, $450 each. Service manager said they have had several fail this year for some reason. Deere wanted $500 for a complete auger assembly or just the tube? $500 for a complete auger is cheap.

Call Haukos Bros. in Glencoe- they salvage and rebuild 7000 planters, ship overseas. Might have what you need from a salvage unit. I got fertilizer attachment parts from them a couple of years ago. Regarding augers- I"ve been buying flighting, tube, shaft, from steel suppliers and machine shops for years and make my own, whether for new or replacement. Bought a pallet of powerheads on auction and still haven"t used them all. Sure beats retail.

I reflited my wagon fertilizer auger this winter. Fliting cost me about $75. A new auger would have cost close to $1500. On the marker valve I took it apart and polished the spool up and touched the bore up with a brake cylinder hone. Works perfect. Now today one of the seed sensors failed, no fix to that tho. New one was $100.
